Christine the destination for hats
As we head towards the grand climax of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, Christine shares her favourite hats which are a sure bet for style at the track.
Take a look at some of the photos from our special race wear salon showings, headlining Philip Treacy. Christine styled some of her favourite hats for SS12 to create looks which are effortlessly stylish for Derby, Oaks and Cup Day.
Also, as a special pre Cup service, we will be open this Sunday 4th Nov from 11am to 4pm.
A versatile look which can go the distance from Cup to Oaks—Treacy soft flesh petal hat $1250. Played perfectly with Goossens jewels, Stella McCartney clutch bag and Etro dress.
You’ll place first in the photo finish with Maison Michel’s blue trilby $450, or black hat with chain detail $675.
The Treacy ocelot oval pillbox, $1450, pairs perfectly with shades of tan and bronze metallic highlights, go for a Goossens cross necklace, Etro dress and Anya Hindmarch bag.
Oaks day is soft and striking with a Philip Treacy ice pink side sweep $1550, Pellini rose quartz and chain necklace, and Etro silk chiffon top.
Spectator style—left, Philip Treacy’s Iconic Gondola $2950, and right, Treacy black felt trilby with feather fountain $1300. The look is completed with ‘Shades of black’ Lanvin Jewels and a capped sleeve Toni Maticevski dress.
For classic Derby go for a Treacy white resin disc $4450, but then add in soft hints of colour with an Etro silk shirt over chic black pants.
Treacy’s signature shape—the oval pill box in navy with black bow, also available in black/black $895.
Be first out of the gates with a Treacy couture piece, Swarovski crystal covered pill box POA.
Looking forward, looking back—
To think it was this time last year that Christine hosted the unforgettable Philip Treacy runway show in the lane way behind the store. An encore screening is certainly in order, have a look at Tim Tim McCartney’s video here http://vimeo.com/31478302. We are very excited that Philip Treacy is returning to Melbourne for the racing carnival this year, where he will be busy judging Fashions on the Field. We can’t wait to see which hats receive the high honour of a nod from Philip!
